HDC Labs (CEO Seong-eun Kim), a space AIoT platform company, and ROBOTIS (CEO Byeong-su Kim) announced that they signed a business agreement to build a smart residential environment and will fully push forward a project to introduce robot services within apartment complexes.

ROBOTIS is a robot solution company that develops and manufactures core components such as autonomous robots and robot actuators, and is leading innovation in various industries and educational robot fields.

Through this agreement, ▲HDC Labs will implement a residential robot service model specialized in apartment complexes that integrates its smart home technology, and ▲ROBOTIS will provide autonomous robots and related technologies to support this. The two companies plan to start with services such as delivery orders for stores within the complex or nearby and volume-based trash bag collection using robots within apartment complexes, and to continuously expand various residential convenience services such as cleaning of common areas and patrolling of vulnerable areas in the future. Residents can request the robot services they need through smartphone apps or home network wall pads, and the robots can use smart home linkage and autonomous driving technology to automatically authenticate entry and exit to the common entrance lobby, automatically board the elevator, get off at the destination floor, and move to the entrance of the relevant unit, allowing for true last-mile service.

In addition, based on the data collected through the robot service, we will continue to improve the robot service that can be provided to residents by reflecting user feedback while making technological improvements such as optimizing the robot movement path and shortening the request time. In addition, the residential robot service is expected to contribute to the efficient management and cost reduction of apartment complexes beyond simply providing convenience. By introducing robots, repetitive tasks within the complex can be automated, reducing personnel operating costs and creating an environment where management personnel can focus on higher value-added tasks. Kim Seong-eun, CEO of HDC Labs, said, “Through this agreement, we plan to provide more innovative residential services by integrating robot technology into existing smart home solutions,” and “We hope to contribute to substantially improving the quality of life of residents by continuously expanding smart residential services.”
