ROBOTIS, a company specializing in autonomous driving robots, announced on the 22nd that it is accelerating its overseas expansion by signing an official contract for the operation of its indoor autonomous driving robot, GAEMI, at 'The Westin Resort Guam'. GAEMI provides a delivery service for hotel operations within the club lounge of The Westin Resort. It accurately delivers food and drinks by identifying the optimal route and collects empty dishes and carries them to the kitchen. The local hotel industry in Guam is paying attention to autonomous driving robots as an alternative to the ongoing rise in labor costs and labor shortage.

GAEMI can move between floors on its own using a robot arm without communication with an elevator. It is a product optimized for non-face-to-face services in hotels, hospitals, and public facilities as it can operate elevator buttons, tag security cards, and knock on rooms. ROBOTIS is expanding GAEMI's overseas exports. Starting with its entry into the 'The Rise Osaka Kitashinchi' hotel in Japan in May of this year, it is working hard to find partners to develop overseas markets such as Japan and North America. In Korea, GAEMIs are supplied to major hotels such as Courtyard Marriott Seoul Times Square and Kensington Hotel & Resort. Kim Byeong-su, CEO of ROBOTIS, said, “Recently, as labor costs are rising and the burden of labor shortages is getting worse in major countries such as Japan and the U.S., the need for service robots is being highlighted,” and “ROBOTIS, a domestic company, expects to secure global competitiveness based on its own technological prowess and create a new turning point in the autonomous robot market.”
