ROBOTIS (CEO Kim Byung-soo), a company specializing in autonomous driving robots, announced on the 4th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Selvas AI (CEO Kwak Min-cheol), an artificial intelligence company, for cooperation in the AI robot business. Through this agreement, the two companies plan to cooperate to develop advanced autonomous driving robots and discover new business models using AI convergence technology based on AI voice intelligence technology and voice synthesis technology.

ROBOTIS is currently providing differentiated hotel delivery services through its indoor autonomous driving robot ‘GAEMI’ equipped with a robotic arm, which has been introduced to major domestic hotels such as Mayfield Hotel, Ibis Ambassador Myeongdong, Ambassador Seoul Gangnam, Courtyard Marriott Seoul Times Square, and the Japanese hotel chain Myeongdong Henn na Hotel. In particular, since ROBOTIS developed the GAEMI hardware and software in-house, it can flexibly respond to various locations and services.

Selvas AI possesses the highest level of AI voice intelligence technology in Korea, including text-to-speech (TTS) technology and speech recognition (STT) technology that can convert AI voices that even contain emotions, and has experience in collaboration with robot companies. In addition, it has a lineup of voice synthesis technologies that can be supplied in various forms, such as embedded, server, and cloud, so it can be applied to various types of robots, from service robots to human-like robots. Kim Byung-soo, CEO of ROBOTIS, said, “The scope of autonomous driving robots is expanding into various fields, from serving to logistics and disaster relief, and will become a key growth engine in the midst of rapidly changing industrial innovation and labor market changes.” He added, “Through this agreement, we hope to build infrastructure for the coming era of AI becoming part of our daily lives based on AI voice intelligence technology, while also becoming the starting point for leading the way in AI autonomous driving robots.” Park Kyung
