ROBOTIS Co., Ltd. announced on the 28th that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) with Maxerve and will expand its autonomous driving robot service business.

Through this agreement, ROBOTIS plans to expand its business area of autonomous robot ‘GAEMI’ to include building management services such as security and cleaning.

Maxerve is the largest company in Korea that provides solutions for advanced building management and real estate asset management with 650 locations nationwide and approximately 11,400 employees. The two companies plan to provide diverse and differentiated services in the future through robots.

According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the domestic robot industry is currently worth 5.6 trillion won and will expand to over 20 trillion won by 2030 through public-private partnership investment. As the green light goes on for the domestic robot industry, the domestic robot industry is accelerating business diversification.

The GAEMI will perform security duties such as monitoring building safety, patrolling specific routes, and managing entrances and exits, while maintaining the basic functions of autonomous robots. They will also perform a role in cleaning and beautifying the building.

Currently, GAEMI is providing various delivery services in hotels, resorts, hospitals, and offices. Its biggest feature is that it is the first in Korea to be equipped with a robot arm, and can move between floors with its own artificial intelligence (AI) without a separate communication device. In addition, it is evaluated as a product optimized for providing non-face-to-face services, as it can perform elevator button manipulation, security tagging, knocking, and belling.

In fact, GAEMI has entered various service fields in Japan and is receiving recognition for ROBOTIS' technological prowess. Last month, GAEMI, which was introduced to a general hospital in Japan, received positive reviews while operating services such as delivering medical records by moving between floors or delivering convenience store items. ROBOTIS CEO Kim Byeong-su said, "We will be able to encounter service robots more closely in our daily lives, not only in serving robots, but also in hotels, hospitals, buildings, etc.," and added, "Based on ROBOTIS' technological prowess proven through GAEMI, we will provide robot solutions in various fields and take the lead in popularizing robots."
