DYNAMIXEL is a robot exclusive smart actuator with fully integrated DC Motor + Controller + Driver + Sensor + Reduction Gear + Network in one DC servo module.
DYNAMIXEL AX-series are used in ROBOTIS STEM, Premium, and GP.
You can easily create various types of robots such as humanoid, 4 legged and 6 legged robots with the AX-series.
It can also be used as a wheel so that you can create a robot with a combination of wheel type and joint type in a single module.
By using a variety of high-strength engineering plastic option frames or by printing frames using a 3D printer, you can produce any type of robot at a low cost.
AX-18A is a high performance version of the popular DYNAMIXEL AX-12A, and can be applied to robots that need more power.

Only AX-series frames can be used. Optional frames for MX-series and X-series cannot be used.
Please maintain the highest limit temperature the same as the default setting value for safe usage

AX-18
These little motors bridge the power gap between the AX-12 and MX series with a medium priced package that still fits the AX form factor. Like all dynamixel servos, they are wonderful alternatives to standard RC servos for anyone looking to create robots on a hobbyist budget. They come pre-calibrated with great ROS support and wonderful features for torque, wheel, and position control. All of that makes them highly useful and essential to many of my projects. They are really no strong alternatives for mot of my robots.
Unfortunately, they have some distinct downsides compared to the rest of Robotis's servo line up. They are prone to over heat and break more often than the Ax-12 or MX series. Their motion response time is slower to respond than the AX-12 and they are more prone to noisy jitter in application.
Make no mistake, for their price point and torque output, there are no better servos on the market. I only wish they lived up to the quality level of the other excellent servos that Robotis makes.
